Physical DescriptionBallot Box. (a) Colorless glass; molded. Cylindrical glass dome with open base, rounded shoulders, and raised rectangular opening at top. Top inscribed in raised lettering, "NATIONAL BALLOT BOX / PAT'D June 17 1884 / MF'D BY AMOS. PETTIBONE / CHICAGO". (b) Wood box with open sides, circular ring cut in base to hold glass dome, and hinged lid with metal mounts and three locks (no key).
