Physical DescriptionGreenish colorless glass; gold sandwich. Circular medallion decorated with gold leaf between two glass elements fused together: upper, dish-shaped with thin (1 mm) side and thicker base (4 mm); lower, flat, apparently turned downward at edge; decoration consists of roundel with border of contiguous diamond-shaped motifs, containing horse, saddled and bridled, facing right, with beardless male rider, in tunic, turned to face viewer, right arm raised, with whip or palm in hand; inscriptions, in Greek, in capitals: on either side of rider's head, "AOU ITE"; vertical, on left side of roundel "PIE ZH-SES", all in gold leaf, with details of horse and rider scratched.
