Interpretive Notes
The vase is inscribed “St. Louis,” which suggests that it was exhibited by Tiffany Studios at the St. Louis world’s fair in 1904.
Physical DescriptionFavrile Vase with Leaves. Favrile, opaque glass resembling bronze; blown, applied decoration. Ovoid body, short neck with sheared mouth; pale greenish amber heart-shaped leaf and stem decoration around shoulder, and loopings on neck; rough pontil mark on base, inscribed in center "St. Louis Q715" and around outer edge, "L.C.T." and "Louis C. Tiffany - Favrile".
