Physical DescriptionPale green extremely bubbly glass with many impurities; free- blown and enameled and badly fired. Pear-shaped body with wide very short cylindrical neck and thickened outfolded rim, applied heavy ring foot pushed into body to form pushed up base with rough pontil mark; three ribbed handle applied to rim and central body; on the obverse, in multicolored dull enamel, the coat of arms of the Elector of Saxony, above the inscription: "I. G. D. 4 H. Z. S. I. C. B. E. u. W. C." (Johann Georg der vierte Herzog zu Sachsen Julich, Cleve, Berg, Engern und Westfalen, Churfurst); "16??"; to the left and right of the arms a pattern of little rosettes, flowers and stars in white, red and yellow, white dashes on the handle.Provenance
