Physical DescriptionFrom the series "La Maschere Italiane: Pagliaccio Tiepolesco." Opaque white and opaque black glass; hot-worked. Solid standing figure of "lattimo" (milk) white glass with black details; depicts hump-backed male with arms bent at elbows and flexed fingers (as if playing an invisible flute) wearing tall conical hat with turned-up crimped rim, wearing black demi-mask, partially fringed tunic decorated with two black buttons, ruffled collar, fluted 3/4 length pants, high-heeled shoes, one foot on toe; attached solid flat white circular disc base, slightly concave, with rough pontil. White paper label: "Venini/Murano Venezia/N. 4521/Made in Italy."
