Physical DescriptionFragment of Jar. Transparent light purple, with opaque white trails. Blown in dip mold; applied, marvered. Fragment of jar shaped like truncated cone. Rim thickened, with flat top; walls splays and curves in at bottom; base slightly concave; pontil mark roughly circular (D. 1.1 cm). Fragment has four (of estimated total of about 24) prominent ribs extending from center of base to about 2 cm below rim. Applied decoration: unmarvered trail covers top of rim and extends in spiral just over 1 cm down wall; marvered trail dropped onto center of base and wound spirally 19 times around base and wall, ending just below top of ribs; each circuit has wavy effect, probably created when parison was inserted in dip mold.
