Interpretive Notes
This lamp was patented in 1857.
Physical DescriptionColorless lead glass; pressed; white metal. Cylindrical font with eight vertical panels around sides; domed top ending in tooled, conical knob; two arms extended at right angles from base of font end in octagonal sections, each with a drop-in white metal collar with double whale oil burners; base of font marked: "PATENT APPLIED FOR"; attached to pressed hollow fluted stem and flat circular foot with circle in diamond design.
