Physical DescriptionEgyptian blue and carnelian beads, chipped and somewhat incrusted with dirt; Egyptian blue probably fused in molds and carved, carnelian beads are ground and polished. Two collared beads and one truncated bicone are major elements of Egyptian blue, all are incised, separated by a series of three cylindrical carnelian beads (8) these in turn separated by the segmented beads (faience) and one "knucklebone" bead of Egyptian blue, the balance of the necklace is formed of small pendants of carnelian, roughed out as truncated biconical elements (85) alternating with short-standard biconical elements (71) of Egyptian blue, most preserving incision along thin edge, mixed in are small tabular beads with cross-hatch decoration (4) and biconical beads (10) with a prominent rib along the edge, also ribbed and made of Egyptian blue.Provenance
