Physical DescriptionFragments of a Platter. [76.1.96 a is joined with one of the fragments from 59.1.569] Canes of translucent yellow, yellow-brown and deep blue, opaque white and medium blue glass, all highly iridescent; mosaic glass or millefiori technique, subsequently ground and polished. Two joining fragments of a large circular tray with a random pattern of predominately white spirals in a blue ground with other chips and twisted canes cast into the surface; fragments preserve the profile of a thick flat topped tray with beveled sides and a wide semi-oval base ring. The floor within the base ring is considerably thinner than the outer ledge.
