Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass and flashopal; cut sheet glass, fused and shaped, adhesive applied to joints. Rectangular box with arched "lid"; sealed openwork box fabricated of strips of cut colorless sheet glass fused over cut strips of flashopal at regular intervals creating a woven basket effect; lid has been slumped into an arch side panels that fit within the curve of the arch; lid is adhered to box at each touch point; rectangular box consists of four separate openwork panels and a solid base of cut flashopal fitting with box walls and flush with bottom edges; four small ovoid feet of solid colorless, one adhered to each corner; all joints have been joined by an adhesive. Engraved on bottom "Eitaro Sakurai".
