Interpretive Notes
The lamp is decorated with thin stripes called a canne (with canes). The popular suspension lamps created by Venini are iconic examples of 1950s Italian design.
Physical DescriptionHanging Lamp. Translucent white, yellow and red glass cased with colorless glass; mold-blown, cased, drilled. Flat top surface with diamond core drilled hole; slight conical swells to rounded shoulder; larger cylindrical body tapers inward to base rim; white inner glass cased by vertical cane stripes of red and yellow; large ground and polished opening at bottom.
