Physical Description(a) Opaque white, transparent yellow and gold non-lead glass in colorless matrix; gold in colorless matrix; colorless; preformed canes picked up on blowpipe; blown; rim finished at glory hole; medallions applied, stamped, and tooled. Bowl with rim plain; wall descends vertically to rounded bottom and then turns sharply inward and slightly upward; hollow splayed base with tubular edge made by folding; rounded kick; pontil mark. Body consists of fourteen polychrome canes alternating with fourteen bichrome canes, all of which radiate from center. Polychrome canes: ribbon of opaque white cased with transparent yellow and with narrow cane consisting of gold(?) granules in colorless matrix attached to each edge, cased in colorless and spirally twisted. Bichrome canes: four canes of gold(?) granules in colorless matrix cased with colorless and spirally twisted. Attached to wall, two diametrically opposed medallions made of colorless glass lightly speckled with gold(?). Each medallion is roughly oval with height greater than width and with edge at top pulled out and folded downward and inward, at bottom pulled out, and at sides crimped; at center, stamped human head in relief, shown frontally; (b) opaque white, transparent yellow and gold in colorless matrix; gold in colorless matrix; preformed canes picked up on blowpipe; blown; rim finished at glory hole. Plate with plain rounded lip and broad flange rim which slopes inward; short tapering wall, rounded at bottom; base plain with very low kick; faint trace of pontil mark. Object consists of thirteen polychrome canes alternating with thirteen bichrome canes, all of which radiate from center. Polychrome canes: ribbon of opaque white cased with transparent yellow and with narrow cane consisting of gold(?) granules in colorless matrix attached to each edge, cased in colorless and spirally twisted. Bichrome canes: four canes of gold(?) granules in colorless matrix cased with colorless and spirally twisted.
