Physical DescriptionLight brownish yellow, transparent glass, with isolated stones (glass); gold to golden brown with iridescent highlights (exterior surface); (a) blown, iridized, (rim) ground and polished, (signature) scratched; (b) blown, (knop) applied, iridized, (rim) ground and polished. (a) Jar: squat, with rounded profile. Rim plain; neck short, cylindrical; shallow pad base, with rounded edge made by folding; no pontil mark. Scratched signature at edge of base: "steuben aurene 2948". (b) Cover: dome-shaped. Knop pointed, onion-shaped, with merese at bottom; shoulder almost horizontal, with rounded edge; wall vertical.
