Interpretive Notes
This futuristic table presages "Jet Age" designs of the 1950s and 1960s, yet it clearly comes from an American Art Deco tradition. It was specially made for the "Town of Tomorrow" exhibition at the 1939 World's Fair in New York City.
Physical DescriptionColorless plate glass top; colorless cylinders, black base, circular top with edge appearing black (due to thickness) supported by three large cylinders with black rubber gasket at top and bottom on top of two part base consisting of colorless disk atop larger black disk.
