Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass, opaque brown, red, and translucent pale yellow enamels; cut, ground, kiln-formed-slumped (sheet steel mold), reverse enameled--powdered enamels sifted and manipulated, fired. Small low square dish with slightly rounded sides of bubbly sheet glass, walls flare from center squared base, exterior decoration of with granular enamel coloration; perimeter border of brown fading to pale yellow, remainder of walls are unenameled down to base which has brown and yellow squared background, pushed through enamel is a stylized linear scene of a central kneeling (on one knee) stick figure in profile facing front right with outstreetched arms reaching toward a plant, to left of figure is vertical rake with ab ird perched on top, tufts of grass and trowel stuck in the ground in foreground, scattered short lines of red placed at right angles throughout scene; flattened square base; pushed through enamel at front lower left corner of center design and (reading form front): "M.H.".
