Physical DescriptionOpaque deep amethyst (appearing black), opaque white glasses; cast, carved (cameo technique). Fragment of flat circular disk; opaque deep amethyst sheet, 0.35 cm thick, with slightly raised rim, 0.8 cm wide, and opaque white overlay, 0.15 cm thick. Overlay mostly removed, leaving ornament in relief: on left, pedestal supporting curved leg or legs, perhaps of statue; to right (at center of plaque), standing figure approaches pedestal with left arm bent and hand in front of hip; behind him, seated or reclining figure, perhaps looking at person approaching pedestal, with one arm raised; on left, adjoining rim, indeterminate vertical element.Provenance
