Physical DescriptionBottle or Flacon. Colorless glass of yellowish cast; probably molded for form, cut and engraved. Cut octagonal foot with wide beveled side, square body with straight spreading sides, rounded shoulder with circular opening at center into which a tin neck is fitted; cut decoration: on beveled side of foot, arcs on each side and short flutes forming triangles at points; on body, deep flute at each corner, arc of concave discs above each side and simple disc in space between ends of arcs; elaborate and delicate engraved rococo decoration: small foliated scrolls on shoulder; on two opposing sides, foliated scrolls and masks framing an elaborate ovate medallion having as main motif a cherub holding a decanter in right hand, a wineglass in left; on other two opposing sides elaborate cartouche-like design with shells, scrolls, and mask as main motif. Fitted with tin cap with flat top punched in star-motif.
