Physical DescriptionColorless glass with greenish tinge, bubbles; gold sandwich glass technique, using wire. Roundel inscription in gold wire between two elements fused together: upper, slightly convex, curving upward at edge; lower, broad, flaring "foot" with bell- shaped profile, cracked off and ground. Inscription, in Greek, "Ephesi/Ze-s[ ]is", each word in rectangular frame within outer border with pediment at top flanked by ivy leaves on wavy stems, all in single strands of gold wire.Provenance
