Physical DescriptionTranslucent dark blue, opaque white glass; mold-pressed. Rectangular plaque consisting of thick dark blue layer resting on thin layer of opaque white, which rests on variegated layer containing both blue and white. Uppermost layer bears male youth, naked in relief: figure is facing left; head, in profile, thrown back with hair in disorder; torso, twisted, appears almost frontally; above the buttocks, a tail; weight borne on left leg, slightly flexed, while right leg is lifted, as though in dance; right arm draped with panther skin, with cantharus in right hand; in left hand, a thyrsus with ribbon; in background behind figure, drapery or scarf.
