Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass; blown, enameled. Straight-sided, cylindrical form, with rounded base and flat bottom; the sides with dark brown enameled decoration of religious nature, with full-length depictions of Mary, treading on a crescent and an orb, holding the infant Jesus in her arms; scratched "M.S.S.P." below; to the right, a pope with nimbus, wearing a miter, holding a crosier in one hand, a heart in the other; to the right, a female saint with nimbus, holding a book under her arm; to the right, a large building surrounding a courtyard (perhaps a convent or cloister), with integral church building, fenced gardens outside, trees in the background, a fly overhead; and to the right a Franciscan monk with nimbus, holding a child with nimbus (Jesus ?), on a paw-footed, draped table; rough pontil mark on the bottom; three solid flattened ball (bun) feet applied to the base rim.
