Physical DescriptionCased with colorless, one complex square cane cased black and consisting of many canes made from rods of opaque white, gray, pink, brown, and black glass; canes of varying shapes, sizes, and colors made by fusing monochrome rods; groups of canes assembled, fused, and miniaturized, by stages, then cased; finished cane broken into short sections, which were ground and polished. Slice of complex cane with circular cross-section, consisting square cane cased with colorless glass. Square cane is cased with black and has, on opaque white background, head and shoulders of woman shown frontally but with face turned slightly to left. Woman has hair dressed in elaborate curls beneath ribbons or small bonnet; her face is rendered in delicate flesh tints with eyes, eyebrows, nose and mouth outlined in black; her shoulders are bare.Provenance
