Physical DescriptionOpaque very dark purple, appearing black in reflected light (matrix); opaque yellow, light green, turquoise-blue, red, white and black (inlays). Probably cast; then inlaid, and ground and polished. Fragment of dish or bowl. Lower wall or floor curves down and in. Inner surface inlaid with one complete and five fragmentary motifs: (1-3) circular elements consisting of slices of identical or very similar canes with red dot at center and six groups of radiating black, yellow, and green stripes; (4-5) ribbon-like motifs, rounded at one end, with white transverse stripes alternating with groups of polychrome stripes, in which broad turquoise strip is flanked by narrow yellow and red strips; and (6) indeterminate black, yellow, and green motif.Provenance
