Physical DescriptionColorless lead glass; blown, cut. (a) Ovoid, cylindrical shape with flat base; cut, plain rim; continuous band of cut, ribbed, swirled pointed leaf forms on the sides, with small, triangular panels of cross-cutting between the tips of the leaves; two cut grooves below, with wide panel cutting near the base; the bottom taper cut; the foot rim chamfered on the side, polished flat on the bottom, with polished concave pontil mark; (b) circular plate above a bulbous lower section; the plate with upturned, scallop-cut rim, cut decoration on the outside, matching that on (a); open well in the center, to accept the base of (a); the lower section globular, with horizontal mitre cuts on the sides; the bottom covered with large nailhead diamonds with cross-cutting on the tips.Provenance
