Physical DescriptionColorless, translucent purplish-red, opaque white, and opaque yellow glasses; colorless and opaque pink canes; bowl blown in optic mold, withdrawn, twirled on blowpipe, decorated with tooled trails, and with rim finished at glory hole; stem and foot made from separate gather, which was mold-blown and tooled, and from appliqués, trails and preformed canes; edge of foot finished at glory hole; canes consist of spirally twisted opaque pink ribbon cased in colorless. Goblet consisting of bowl, stem and foot. Bowl of colorless glass: plain rim and wall which tapers inward and curves in at bottom; wall decorated with mold-blown spiral ribs and with six equally-spaced vertical trails extending from above mid-point to bottom, each trail having many horizontal ridges; in floor, small pontil mark. Stem in two parts (upper and lower); lower part and foot made first, upper part added and then attached to bowl. Lower part, from top to bottom: colorless glass; stem tapers, bulges in onion-shaped knop with air bubble, has reel-shaped section that is wider at top than bottom, cushion-shaped knop with molded vertical ribs and air bubble, second reel-shaped section, and inverted onion-shaped knop with air bubble; between upper and lower onion-shaped knops, two curved trails dropped on to lower knop pulled upward, outward and inward, and attached to upper knop, with both ends bent outward; shallow splayed foot with folded edge and small pontil scar. Upper part, from bottom to top: open-work construction consisting of two opposed groups of opaque pink and colorless canes, colorless trails, and colored appliqués; each group has (1) short cane applied to top of lower part of stem and pulled upward and outward, with end curled inward and downward.
