Physical DescriptionProbably almost colorless glass but with greenish tinge, very dark brown or purple glass appearing black; blown, applied, perhaps ground. Bottle: carrot-shaped. Rim slightly everted and with rounded lip; neck cylindrical, but wider at top and with bulge near bottom; shoulder narrow, with rounded edge; wall straight and tapering; base plain, with flat, but not horizontal surface (perhaps smoothed by grinding). Three small, equidistant handles dropped onto edge of shoulder, drawn up and in, and attached to bulge in neck. Applied decoration on rim and wall. On rim: black lip wrap. On wall, horizontal trail wound spirally just over twice, immediately below shoulder; immediately below this and extending to within 2 cm of base, two black and two colorless zigzags arranged alternately, all slanting downward from left to right. Surface is depressed beneath spiral trail and both colorless zigzags.Provenance
