Physical DescriptionJug with Nipt-diamond-waies. Colorless lead glass; blown, molded, applied, tooled. Ovoid form with tapered sides, rounded shoulder; cylindrical, slightly flaring neck and cup-shaped top with pinched pouring spout; a second gather ends at the base of the neck; blown and molded in a sixteen-rib mold, the ribbing on the lower, ovoid part of the body pincered into a diamond pattern (so-called “nipt-diamond-waies”); twelve vertical ribs trailed on the body, pincered vertically and horizontally to form ribbed fins; trailed vermicular collar near the base of the neck; and applied hollow handle, indented at the top for a (missing) metal cover and anchor pin on the handle strap, and curled at the lower attachment; trailed, sloping foot rim, pincered radially with a tool with a pointed slender ribbed tip; rough pontil mark underneath the base.
