Physical DescriptionCovered Punch Bowl. Colorless lead glass; blown, trailed, pincered, applied, molded. (a) Blown bowl decorated with a circuit of trailed chains above a border of ornament "nipt diamond waies" created by pinching together vertical ribbing, applied, folded pedestal foot; broken pontil mark under base and inside on bottom of bowl. (b) The high, domed cover similarly decorated by molding the second gather in a diamond-mesh mold, inset with flange pulled out to rest on edge of bowl; applied crown finial with four s-shaped scrolls with pincered fringes (one missing), topped by a pincered three-lobed cross.Provenance
