Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass; blown (probably mold-formed), and enameled. Tapered, cylindrical shape; sides enameled with brown, tan and black representation of the Ochsenkopf mountains, with buildings at the top, animal heads on sides, birds on front, blue rope-like rivers at base, inscribed in white: "Eger.", "Naab.", "Saale.", and "Main."; reverse with two coats of arms below a crown; inscribed "Dess füchtelberges, Ruhm ist weit und breit bekand, er nutzt zwar frembden mehr als eignen Vaterland: /doch bleibt dem Lande was von ihme noch verliehen: an Eisen, Ertz und holtz thut man viel von ihm Ziehen." below rim, and "Trink mich aus und setz mich nieder, schenk mich ein und frisch dich wider." around the base: "Vivat Brandenburg/und Wurthenberger/Haus, /Gott Lass sie Leben./Anno 1748." on either side of the coats of arms; gilt band at top rim, flanked by white dots; green, orange and brown lines encircle base; rounded foot rim; slight kick with rough pontil mark on underside.
