Physical DescriptionRuby over colorless, lead glasses; blown, cased, cut, gilt. (A,B) Perfume decanters: bulbous body with tall slender neck; gilt bands; cut with two rows of eight opposing arches through gold ruby to clear; cut trefoils and quatrefoils between arches; gilt swags and ornaments around body; octagonal base with ground and polished pontil mark. (Ab,Bb) Inverted pear-shaped, cut through ruby to clear in four vertical panels, showing elongated air bubble inside; gilt decoration around body; ground neck. (Ca) Powder box: flattened bulbous shape with eight panels cut through ruby to clear; cut trefoils and quatrefoils and gilt decoration; base ground and polished. (Cb) Lid: round ball knob, matching decoration with serrated cutting around rim.Provenance
