Physical DescriptionPale green, transparent glass; blown, applied, foot ground, polished. Egg-shaped beaker. Rim outsplayed, with rounded lip; neck short, cylindrical; wall curves out and down, then tapers; base in form of low cone, with shallow foot ring finished by grinding and polishing. Decorated with trails and claws: one trail wound spirally eight times around outside of rim and neck; second trail wound ten times around lower wall; three claws applied to wall just above greatest diameter, drawn out and down, and reattached to lower wall; three claws applied to wall at greatest diameter in spaces between upper claws, drawn down and in, and reattached to bottom of wall. Number scratched on polished underside of foot ring: “851”.Provenance
