Physical DescriptionProbably translucent medium blue glass, bubbly with thick dark iridescent film over entire surface, overlaid with bands of opaque white, translucent deep green and possibly amethyst and colorless glass with shattered gold foil; mosaic glass or ribbon glass technique, probably blown and overlaid. Body of two-part alabastron, broken in half with extensive plaster restoration in tip, lower and upper third of the body; entire surface is covered with undulating bands of alternating colors all of which spiral down to the tip; pattern and color arrangement is completely obliterated by the thick weathering crust on the surface.Provenance
