Physical DescriptionTranslucent greyish-blue matrix with canes of opaque yellow, opaque red, opaque white, translucent blue and translucent yellow-green, dull, pitted; mosaic glass or millefiori technique, cut and polished. Slice of large rectangular inlay plaque; fragment preserves top portion of an elaborate yellow satyr's head with an intricate eye and ear delineated in blue and red canes, over the rather triangular ear fall wisps of white hair which are repeated as long elaborate sideburns as far as preserved; over the bald head and framing the face are yellow-green grape leaves cased with yellow.
