Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass; blown, cut, engraved. Tapered, straight-sided bowl with rounded base; engraved matte band at the rim above a narrow band of linked semicircles; portrait of a woman under a crowned canopy, with angels holding the draped fabric, with massed bottle trophies including flags, arms and drums at the sides; on the reverse, the crowned double-headed Russian eagle, with oval panel on its breast inscribed "EA", with stacked cannon balls at either side, and foliate scrolls at the sides above; cut arcades and linked diamond facets at the base of the bowl; the thick bowl base containing seven air beads, arranged in a circle of six around one; hollow stem consisting of a panel-faceted ball knop above a paneled inverted baluster, swelling at the base; conical foot; rough pontil mark.Provenance
