Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass; blown, cut, engraved. Large ovoid bowl; cut and engraved decoration, including polished diamond- shaped jewels in a matte border above a band of polished circular facets; engraved circular panels on each side, one with a male bust-length portrait facing (King Friedrick William I)sinister, the other with a female bust-length portrait facing (Queen Sophia Dorothea) sinister, crowns above; the male portrait with military trophies at either side, the female with cornucopias of fruit and foliage; inscribed "Es lebe/der Konig, und die/Konigin." above; relief-carved pointed stylized leaves in a band at the base of the bowl; stem with flattened ball knop with oval facets, above a hollow, faceted baluster knop, and another oval-faceted flattened ball knop; circular foot with pointed relief-carved leaves in a ring at the base of the stem; polished pontil mark.
