Physical DescriptionOpaque white non-lead glass; blown, enameled; pewter mounts. Cylindrical shape with enameled decoration of a circular panel enclosing a seated chinoiserie figure holding a parasol, with buildings at the left surrounded by red, blue, and yellow foliage, with elaborate floral decoration at either side; black and red borders at top and bottom; applied loop handle with ribbed pewter strap; rough pontil mark; pewter border with decorative edge of diamond points alternating with curved swags applied on the rim; hinged flat cover marked "SVL" on inside, inscribed "VAL-TRIEBEL/1740" on top; ball latch; molded pewter footrim.
