Physical DescriptionBrown salt-glazed stoneware; turned, incised, enameled. Barrel-shaped, shallow cylindrical shape; tapered rim, with molded rounded band and pewter strap below; the sides with incised diamond-shaped facets enameled in blue and white in vertical rows, with two circular panels on the front, with enameled elaborate coats of arms, one inscribed "A.F./V.E.", the other "W.F.V.E./G.S." on white ribbands; applied loop handle on the reverse, with molded, enameled crowned herm; inscribed "1638" behind the handle; molded chain band around the base, with thin pewter band above; domed pewter cover, hinged to the handle; engraved inscription on the top of the cover "GL.St./1817." in script; globular thumb-piece with rounded finial; applied angular pewter rim on the base; flat, partly glazed base.
