Physical DescriptionColorless lead glass; blown, cut. (a-c) Cylindrical forms, rounded at the base, with polished pontil marks; folded rims; with three cream-colored chamois leather sleeves; (c) has wool stuffed inside; (c) fits inside (a). (d) Rectangular cut bottle, the shoulders faceted; short neck with wide flared flat rim, with polygonal cut edge; flat base with polished pontil mark; small stopper with cut, flat, oval finial; tapered, ground shank; chamois leather sleeve. (e) Scarifier; brass; square, with canted corners, molded base; impressed "WEISS / LONDON" on one side; knurled knob on top raises and lowers base to expose twelve curved blades at greater or lesser depth; curved steel cocking handle on top; two steel screws on top; steel screws on sides; brass button knob on side, to release the spring-mounted scarifying blades. (f) Rectangular wood (mahogany) box with flat, hinged lid; brass lock escutcheon in the shape of a shield; with four compartments in the purple-lined velvet interior; purple velvet padding in the lid.Provenance
