Physical DescriptionColorless lead glass, white sulphide; encased, cut, molded sulphide, cast metal mount. Flat, square shape, with long, ovals at each corner; ovals with fan cutting on the obverse; polished flat face with cut grooves (composed of a deep groove at the outside, and three tiny grooves within) outlining the central square; a rectangular plinth above, with attached metal sleeve ending in a stylized flower on both faces, leaves on the edges, a turned and leaf-molded post, pierced, with a loose ring for hanging; the plaque enclosing a molded sulphide of two men in profile (Voltaire and Rousseau), bust length, facing sinister, one with long curls; reverse side of the sulphide flat; grooves cut along the sides of the flat face on the reverse.
