Physical DescriptionColorless lead glass, white sulphide; encased, cut, molded sulphide, cast gilt metal mount. Flat, circular shape, enclosing a molded white sulphide bust portrait of a woman (Princess de Lamballe), wearing a jeweled tiara and long veil, with necklace and low-cut bodice, facing dexter; reverse of the sulphide flat, impressed "DESPREZ,/Rue de Recolets/No. 2, a Paris"; flat faces of the plaque polished, chamfered rim diamond faceted; cast gilt metal hanger of overlapping leaves and berries; turned post with band of beading, pierced for a loose ring for hanging.Provenance
