Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass; blown, pattern-molded, cast and engraved pewter. Globular form; the sides covered with molded diamonds (9 diamonds vertically by 24 diamond in a horizontal ring); plain rim and base; applied heavy "C" handle; hinged pewter cover attached to the handle, with a pointed terminal, raised grape vine decoration around a shield engraved "SS.11." in the center; engraved script "W. Simroth S/M l. W. Winter. d.26.110.64." on the rim; cast standing lion thumbpiece, holding a shield engraved monogram "EFN!" [?] on the face; concave bottom with large rough ring pontil scar.
