Physical DescriptionCovered Beaker. Colorless non-lead glass; blown, cut, engraved. (a) Tapered bowl, elaborately cut; cut plain rim; cut raised band with fine cross-cut diamonds and polished circular facets; wide band with panels of cut nailhead diamonds alternating with vertical grooves, with a heart-shaped panel on the front, with finely- engraved crowned monogram "MJ"; narrow band of cross-cut diamonds and circular facets below, with three horizontal grooves below; flared foot with large cut diamonds on the rim; polished foot rim with polished concave pontil mark; inscribed "S2035" in white paint. (b) Domed form with tapered brim; cut decoration consisting of a band of panels, cut grooves, band of cut fine diamonds, cut grooves, and a band of fine cross-cut diamonds with polished circular facets; panel-cut baluster- shaped finial with cut radial grooves on top; polished flat rim; inscribed "S2305" in white paint on the rim.
