Physical DescriptionColorless; blown, facet-cut. Bottle: globular. Rim plain, with flat top (but see below); neck short and cylindrical; shoulder slopes; wall curves down and in; base is small and flat; no trace of pontil mark (perhaps removed by grinding). Decoration consists of, on shoulder, continuous horizontal countersunk rib decorated with crosshatching; on all but lowest part of wall, four continuous rows of contiguous hollow oval facets (with heights greater than widths) arranged in quincunx; top three rows have 26 facets, and bottom row has 25 facets; at bottom of wall, shallow wheel-cut “steps,” and below this, one continuous horizontal band of seven crescentshaped cuts.Provenance
