Physical DescriptionPitcher and Wash Bowl. Colorless lead glass; blown, applied, cut. Pitcher: helmet shape, rim cut in a series of arches and cyma curves, pouring spout rounded; cut flutes below the spout, with cut ovals at either side, and bands of large cut diamonds below; triangular cut facets around the rounded base; cut vertical panels at either side of the applied loop handle, with cut scallops on the handle, curled lower terminal; body of the pitcher mounted on a large ball knop; domed foot with cut circular facets on the dome, rim petal-cut; rough pontil mark on the underside of the foot. Wash bowl: deep, circular bowl with flat rim, vertical sides and flat base; rim cut with cyma curves alternating with arcs; sides decorated with cut flutes, merging into three rows of diamonds at the base; underside of the bottom with a cut eight-pointed star.
