Physical DescriptionPale aquamarine lead glass; blown and engraved. Deep, circular form, with rounded sides; trailed opaque white rim; engraved border of cyma scrolls, and lyres with fox head finials flanked by horseshoe scrolls ending in bird's heads; engraved decoration in three panels separated by cross-hatched panels, scrolls, fans, and flowers: a large 17th century mansion with three bays and four chimneys, with a man and boy standing in front, with a hunting dog alongside; a drinking scene, with seven seated men and a servant standing around a large oval table, smoking and drinking, with a bottle, a pipe and a bowl on the table, on a floor laid out in squares a ribband above, inscribed "FARI QUAE SENTIAS/ APPETITVS RATIONI PAREAT"; and a hunting scene, with two men on horseback, one blowing a hunting horn, following five dogs and a stag; a band of stylized flowers at the bottom; applied flared foot; polished pontil mark.
