Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass; blown, cut, engraved. Tall ovoid bowl, with elaborate engraving; a band of polished diamonds and ovals in a matte border, with scallops above and polished circular facets below; on the obverse a large oval panel with scrolled frame enclosing a hunting scene, with a man riding a horse, after dogs chasing a rabbit, with trees in the background, inscribed "Aller guten Hetz Jager" above; on the reverse, a shield formed of an oval panel, bearing a fox attacking a small dog on its back, with a similar crest above a helmet, with elaborate foliate scrolls; swags of polished circular facets above the shield and polished circular facets arranged in vertical stacks below; a band of relief cut pointed and rounded panels at the base of the bowl, the larger rounded panels outlined with tiny matte circular facets; inscribed "IND" below the hunting scene panel; stem with two disks above a flattened ball knop with cut slanted fluting, above two disks, and an inverted baluster knop with polished circular facets above cut spiral flutes, with an angular merese and small ball knop at the base of the stem; conical foot with folded rim; engraved scalloped band with a ring of circular facets engraved on the top of the foot; rough pontil mark.Provenance
