Physical DescriptionColorless lead glass; blown, cut, copperwheel engraved. Shallow bowl form with solid cylindrical base; inscribed on flat underside in block letters: "WILD BILL HICKOK - THE McCANLES MASSACRE" over scene of man holding smoking six gun in right hand and rifle in left as shot victim collapses to join two other bodies stretched on ground amidst vegetation; "BILLY THE KID - HIS FIRST MURDER" over a scene of a short, bare-chested male, Billy the Kid, holding a six-shooter in his right hand; a male figure with moustache and upraised left hand stands in front of him; a female figure with hands over eyes and bonnet stands behind him; and "JESSE JAMES SHOT BY ROBERT FORD" over a scene of man falling from chair with right hand held to head while man with six shooter raised in right hand stands behind him; picture hangs on wall and saddle sect on floor; signed in script on base "Steuben 1946".Provenance
