Physical DescriptionColorless, cased with dichroic glass which is blue-gray in reflected light and amber when light shines through it, decorated with opaque white and deep red trails; blown, cased, trailed and marvered, ground and polished. Bottle: body egg-shaped, oval in horizontal cross section. Rim short, everted, with rounded lip finished at furnace; short cylindrical neck; sloping shoulder, merging with wall which descends vertically and curves in at bottom; plain base, ground and polished so that only colorless glass and ends of red trail remain. Trailed decoration: red trail dropped on under base and drawn upward and across wall from left to right and then down again to base; on lower part of body, zone of eight intermittent horizontal white trails which start and stop on either side of red trail, and have corresponding short horizontal stripes on the red trail. Engraved or acid-etched signature on base: "Boda/ Alelje 520/ B. Vallien". Rectangular paper label affixed to base: printed in black on silver, "ALTELJÉ/ DESIGN BERTIL VALLIEN" inside border.
