Physical DescriptionPerfume Decanter with Stopper, "Coppelia 45". Colorless with transparent and translucent mauve, purple and brown (?) overlays; mold-blown, applied, tooled. Decanter with stopper. (a) Decanter: square with walls of varying thickness. Rim everted with flat upper surface, beveled edge and tapering side; short cylindrical neck; flat shoulder with rounded edge; vertical wall; flat base with slight concavity at center. Applied and tooled decoration consisting of two flowers, one large and one smaller, each of two adjoining walls with edges of some petals extending onto nearest wall; smaller flower has mauve petals and darker center, apparently brown over mauve; larger flower has deep purple petals and darker center, apparently brown over purple; in both bases, veins in petals indicated by grooves. Signature acid-etched at bottom of wall below smaller flower: "Daum France" (cursive). (b) Stopper: knop spherical with fifteen vertical flutes; lower part of stopper tapers with flat bottom.
