Physical DescriptionDiatreta Bowl with Cover. Colorless and transparent mottled amethyst lead glasses with choloidal gold dichroic inclusions; cire perdue technique. (a) Circular upper rim; inverted dome-shape body with three symmetrically placed horses' heads above and encircling frieze of panels of circles divided by vertical pillars in the diatreta style; solid cylindrical base with three vertical pillars; wheel-engraved on base: "F Carder 1953". (b) Low profile conical shape cover with lattice work of circles and grooved angular pillars with a flower below each pillar; angel-like finial; inverted conical lower rim; wheel-engraved by rim: "F Carder 1953".
