Physical DescriptionSnuff Bottle and Stopper. Opaque white and translucent red-orange glass, orange stone (?), cork, ivory; blown, cased, cameo-carved. (a) Flattened, ovoid form; red-orange overlay on opaque white; flat rim with circular opening for a stopper; short, spreading neck; the sides with finely carved branches, with butterflies, dragonfly, flowers, a spider and bats; carved oval inscribed seal on the side; carved oval white foot rim. (b) Domed orange carnelian (?) cap, mounted on a tapered cork stopper, and slender ivory spoon with pointed oval spatulate bowl.
